Welcome to the site, let me tell you ‘About Us’, and what this blog is all about.
I started this web site so that I could share ideas about how and why I came to create a series of stories about a group of twelve fictional, international, characters who lead interesting lives, have adventures, and, incidentally, enjoy drinking really great coffee. These people are known collectively as The Coffee Bar Gang ™.
This is a project that I have been working on for a few years now and it combines three activities that I enjoy in my retirement – writing, painting, and making music.
The twelve ‘Coffee Characters’ have been complete and in place for quite a while, so, now seemed like a good time to ‘go public’ and share my creations with a wider audience. Hence, the introduction of my ‘Omnibus On-Line Blog Book’ called: A Perfect Storm in a Coffee Cup.
The immediate Blog Objective, therefore, is simply to present “content” for readers to sample and enjoy at their leisure. There are no ‘strings’ attached anywhere!
Later on, however, if (hopefully when) the opportunity presents itself, it would be good if I could monetise some of the Blog activities by publishing the character’s individual Action Stories as separate books, also by selling associated ‘collectables’ e.g. art prints, mugs, calendars, notelets and cards, featuring the characters and their stories. It would be nice too, if I were to create a bespoke range of coffee products?
If that were to happen, then those “business” activities would be carried out elsewhere i.e. via other external on-line ‘shopping’ websites, NOT on this site.
The primary Aims of this blog, therefore, are:
First, to present the story behind the creation of The Coffee Bar Gang™, to explain how the twelve characters were created and then developed.
Second, to promote the characters and their associated Action/Adventure Stories.
Third, to integrate a range of Coffee-related themes, ideas, and venues e.g. Coffee Drinks, Coffee Festivals, Local Coffee Shops, and Coffee News in general.
